Summer is here, now what…

The official first day of summer is this Saturday, June 21st, and also indicates the farthest point of the sun, north of the equator!

Welcome to summer in Maine!

Well, you got here, congratulations, now what?

Since there is more sun, you could take some time outside and garden….

…visit Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.

With the sun, comes the heat, and a fresh dip in the lake or beach might be an option.

With the abundant lakes and streams there is also fishing. Try the local marina and find your charter for striper or tuna.

Some other ideas,… Camping, whitewater rafting , beer festivals , sailing , blueberries, lobster, whalesshopping , VISIT The Old Port , the start or a world famous road race , see a Maine farm, kayak, Katahdin, attend a farm to table dinner…

… make baby steps, get a small plan together and take a drive to the nearest thing to do in Maine. You won’t go to far before you find one.

Plus, there are a bunch of local folks out there to help you find a good time. Maine hosts millions of visitors per year, and these folks are the infrastructure of our communities. Stop by any unique small store, (you might see them in the Wall Street Journal)

The important thing is to make some time to enjoy Maine, it has a lot to offer.
